KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The KCKCC men's basketball team split both of their contests over the weekend, defeating No. 19 North Central Missouri College on Friday - 87-83 and falling to Metropolitan CC on Saturday 93-82.
The Blue Devils are 2-4 on the season.
KCKCC was outscored 48-43 in the first half against North Central Missouri, but rebounded out play spoiler in the second half. The Blue Devils rode a 44 point period to upset the Pirates 87-83 down the stretch.
Bradley Lightbourne led all scorers with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while grabbing six rebounds. Joshua Dames had 23 points and Jalen Broyles added 14.
On Saturday, the Blue Devils trailed Metropolitan 45-44 at halftime. KCKCC stayed within striking distance in the second half, but with 11:51 remaining the Wolves went up double-digits and never relinquished the lead. Dames led the team with 21 points and was a perfect 6-for-7 from the charity stripe. Broyles added 18 points and Jerry Maxinaud had 16.
KCKCC returns to action on Tuesday night when they host Link Year Prep at 7:30 p.m.
