Kyle Smith joined Kansas City Kansas Community College in November 2022 as the Athletics and Facilities Operations Coordinator. A Columbia, Missouri native, Smith attended Hickman High School, where he played baseball and basketball before graduating in 2005. He went on to play baseball at both Jefferson College (2006–08) and the University of Central Missouri (2008–10), earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He later completed a Master of Science in Sport Management at UCM (2010–12).
Before arriving at KCKCC, Smith spent a decade working in campus recreation. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Assistant Director at the Kirmayer Fitness Center at KU Medical Center. He then moved to the University of Colorado Denver Student Wellness Center, where he was Assistant Director of Programs from 2017 to 2022.
Smith lives in the Kansas City area with his wife, Sarah, and their son, Mason.
