    The Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) baseball team saw its 2025 season come to an end after battling through two elimination games May 15 in Salina, Kan. during the NJCAA Plains District Tournament.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team fell in the second round of the Region VI Playoffs losing to (2) Johnson County Community College 9-1 in eight innings of play May 14 in Salina, Kan. The (6) seeded Blue Devils added two errors, which cost three runs.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team is advancing to the second round of the Region VI Playoffs after upsetting (3) Cloud County Community College 8-5 in a thrilling showdown May 13 in Salina, Kan. The (6) seeded Blue Devils launched four home runs and delivered five clutch runs in the final innings to seal the win.
  • Softball Falls in Region VI Final to Cavaliers

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team played four games in three days, eventually falling to the (3) Johnson County Community College Cavaliers. After the demanding win over Labette in the opening round, the Blue Devils had a tough matchup against the (1) Cowley College Tigers. They were able to take down the Tigers with a final score of 3-1. Moving to the semifinal game against JCCC, the Blue Devils fell with a score of 9-4. Facing elimination, KCKCC had to take on (2) Neosho County in the semifinals, coming out victorious 5-3. This meant a rematch against JCCC in the championship.  Because they had already lost one game in the double elimination tournament, KCKCC would have to beat the Cavaliers twice to be crowned champions. The game went back and forth, but JCCC was able to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the 2025 DII Region VI Softball Tournament Championship.
  • Blue Devil Baseball Heads to Salina

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team is moving on in the Region VI Playoffs after knocking off No. 11 Dodge City Community College in a best-of-three series sweep. The Blue Devils clinched the series with wins of 12-11 and 8-4, advancing to the next round in Salina, Kan. Freshman third baseman Ian Woita played a key role in the series, going 5-8 at the plate and driving in five runs over the two games. 
  • Blue Devils Squeeze by Conquistadors in Game One of Plains District Tournament

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team opened the NJCAA Plains District Baseball Tournament with a dramatic 12-11 win over No. 11 Dodge City Community College May 7. The victory gives the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series, putting them one win away from advancing to the next round in Salina, Kan. Game two is set for 1 p.m. May 8 at the KCKCC baseball field. A win would secure the series for KCKCC, while a Dodge City win would force a decisive Game 3 on Friday.
  • Droge Throws No Hitter in Opening Round of Region VI Tournament

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team mercy ruled the Labette Community College Cardinals with a score of 8-0 on May 6. Alyssa Droge finished the opening game of the 2025 NJCAA Region VI DII Softball Tournament with a no-hitter while recording four strikeouts and just one walk. That makes it four consecutive shutout games for the pitcher from Tecumseh, Kan.
  • Baseball Finishes Regular Season with Statement Games

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down the No. 3 Cowley College Tigers in both games May 3 at the KCKCC baseball field with scores of 4-1 and 18-10. After those results, the Blue Devils will enter postseason play as the No. 6 seed and will host the No.11 Dodge City Conquistadors this week for the opening round of the 2025 Plains District Tournament.
  • Softball Finishes Regular Season with Demanding Sweep

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens with scores of 13-0 and 11-2 May 3. Sidney Sullivan finished her freshman regular season with a bang as she tallied six RBIs and two home runs while going 4-7 from the plate. The Blue Devils enter post season play as the fourth seed and will take on fifth seed Labette in the 2025 Plains District Tournament opening round.
  • Ross Named to NJCAA Softball Hall of Fame

    Lana Ross has been named to the 2025 NJCAA Softball Hall of Fame Class, a prestigious honor recognizing her 22 years of outstanding service, leadership and achievement within the association. Ross currently serves as the KCKCC head softball coach, where she has built a powerhouse program since joining the college in the fall of 2018. Under her leadership, the Blue Devils have compiled a 185-102 record, highlighted by a 2022 NJCAA National Tournament appearance and a national ranking throughout the current 2025 season.
  • Blue Devils Allow Two Pirate Hits in Sweep

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Independence Community College Pirates with scores of 9-0 and 13-0 May 1. There were two pitchers who threw for the Blue Devils in both games and both allowed just one hit each and combined for just one walk. Alyssa Droge went the distance in the opening game and Hanna Acree went the distance in game two.
  • Blue Devils Fall to No.3 Tigers

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team fell to the No. 3 Cowley College Tigers in both games May 1 at the Cowley baseball field with scores of 5-1 and 7-1. After those results, Cowley remains in first place in the KJCCC East Division standings with a conference record of 26-4. They are trailed by Johnson County (25-5), Coffeyville (19-13) and then the Blue Devils (17-13).
  • Eleven Softball Sophomores Celebrated on Saturday

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team fell to the Cowley College Tigers with scores of 3-1 and 2-1 April 26. The Blue Devil offense struggled in game one as they recorded just one hit. After the game two loss, the softball team held a recognition for 11 sophomores. There are currently three sophomores who are moving onto the next level. Both Kinlei Boley and Kloey Dawes will be playing at Central Methodist University (NAIA) and Alyssa Droge is going to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (DI). 
  • Blue Devils Make it 10 Straight

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down Highland Community College four times this past weekend, winning all four games. The first two games were at the KCKCC baseball field with KCKCC winning 18-3 and 9-1. They then took to the road April 26 and beat Highland with scores of 6-2 and 18-4. Currently, KCKCC is in third place in the KJCCC with a conference record of 17-11 behind Cowley 24-4 and Johnson County 23-5.

  • Blue Devils Sweep Red Devils

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team played Johnson County Community College four times over the weekend, winning all four games with scores of 13-6, 13-6, 10-0 and 14-4. Currently, the Blue Devils are 28-28 overall and are in fourth place in the KJCCC with a conference record of 13-11.
  • Panthers Get the Best of Blue Devils

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team fell to the Neosho County Community College Panthers with scores of 9-8 and 12-0 April 17. In game one, the Blue Devils entered the seventh inning leading 8-3 but allowed five runs to go into extra innings. The very next inning, the Panthers were able to score one run to take the win. 
  • Blue Devils Hook the Pirates

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down Division II No. 20 North Central Missouri College Pirates 11-7 April 15 at the KCKCC baseball field. This is the second time these two teams have faced off with one another, and the Blue Devils have gotten the best of the Pirates both times. The first game on March 25 ended with a final score of 10-8 in Trenton, Mo.
  • Blue Devils Strike the Thunderbirds

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Cloud County Community College Thunderbirds with scores of 9-1 and 10-0 April 12. The run for first place in the conference standings is neck and neck as Neosho currently leads with a 11-0 record and right behind them is Cowley and KCKCC, both with a 11-1 record.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team lost both games to the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds April 12 with scores of 4-3 and 11-2. Both teams are now 9-11 in conference play, tied for fourth place in the East Division standings. Ahead of them are Cowley (20-4), Johnson County (20-4) and Coffeyville (15-9).
  • Late Heroics Boost Blue Devils to Sweep

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team swept the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds at the KCKCC baseball field with scores of 4-0 and 7-5 April 10. Both teams entered Thursday afternoon with a conference record of 7-9. With both wins, KCKCC is now in fourth place behind Cowley (18-4), Johnson County (18-4) and Coffeyville (13-9).
  • Softball Win Streak Snapped at Johnson County

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team split with the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers with a game one win of 10-8 and game two loss of 9-1. After recording their first conference loss, the Blue Devils are now tied for second place with Cowley (9-1) and behind Neosho (10-0).

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team fell to the State Fair Community College Roadrunners 14-9 on April 8 at the KCKCC baseball field. The Blue Devils have now lost three in a row and 4-6 in their last 10 games.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds with scores of 12-0 and 8-1 April 8. With the sweep, the Blue Devils have now won 15 consecutive games with a big test coming up on Thursday as they take on Johnson County.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Allen County Community College Red Devils with scores of 7-2 and 8-7. The[KR1]  Blue Devils are currently on a 13-game win streak and are in first place in the KJCCC with a conference record of 8-0. Behind them is Neosho County (6-0), Cowley (5-1) and JCCC (5-1).
  • Blue Devils and Red Ravens Split Series

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team fell in both games to the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens in Coffeyville, Kan with scores of 4-3 and 10-5. The games in Coffeyville were originally scheduled for April 5 but due to weather they were pushed back to April 7. The first two games were at KCKCC last week with the Blue Devils winning both but the roles switched Monday night as the Red Ravens took both games.
  • Softball Makes it 11 Straight

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Fort Scott Greyhounds with scores of 3-0 and 10-2 on Thursday, April 3. The Blue Devils are currently tied for first place in the conference with Neosho County Community College. Both teams are 6-0 in KJCCC play and aren’t set to face off against one another until April 17.
  • Baseball Allows One Run in Double Header Against Red Ravens

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team beat the Coffeyville Red Ravens in both games, 5-0 and 8-1, at the KCKCC baseball field. The Blue Devils are currently tied for fifth place with Fort Scott in the conference with a KJCCC record of 7-7. They will take on Fort Scott April 10 and 12.
  • Baseball Puts Up 28 Runs against Grizzlies

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down the Butler Community College Grizzlies with an outstanding score of 28-16 April 1 in El Dorado, Kan. The KCKCC Blue Devil baseball team has not put up that many runs since March 27, 2018 when they took down MCC with a score of 30-4.
  • Droge Allows One Hit in Shutout Win

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team took down the Southwestern Community College Spartans with score of 7-0. Due to weather, the Blue Devils and Spartans were only able to play one game as they were scheduled for a double header.
