Richter Leads Women's Soccer To 5-0 Shutout Over Pratt CC

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A five goal night not only for the Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team, but also for freshman Jana Richter capped off a season-opening 5-0 shutout win for the Blue Devils over Pratt CC Thursday night. KCKCC is 1-0-0 to begin the year, while Pratt falls to 0-1-0.

The scoring happened early on as the Blue Devils offense broke through the defense of the Bearcats - leading to the first goal seven minutes into the match. KCKCC would score again in the 20th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. Richter added a hat-trick at the 48th minute mark when she received a pass from Emma Gervy.

Gervy and the offense continued to work their way down the field as she gave another pass to Richter four minutes later and Richter sent it into the net. The final goal of the game came at the 55 minute mark when Jordan Bedard sent a pass to Richter, before Richter sent yet another ball into the back of the net.

Richter's team-high five goals came on six total shots. Mia Hurt led the team with seven shots (3 shots on goal).

KCKCC is back on the field Aug. 24 when they play at Iowa Western CC at 3:30 p.m.
