  • Men’s Basketball Season Comes to an End in Danville
    March 24, 2025
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to the 11th seeded Johnson County Community College Cavaliers with a final score of 90-63. This was the fourth time the Blue Devils came across conference foe, JCCC. The first two meetings fell the Cavaliers way, and then the Blue Devils got revenge and punched their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament with a Region VI win over JCCC. It was the Cavaliers who got the best of KCKCC the fourth and final time this season as they shot more than 55% from the floor. JCCC point guard, Stephen Samuels, finished the day with a career-high 35 points while shooting 14-19 from the floor.
  • Men’s Basketball Falls in Second Round to Kirkwood

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell in the second round of the double elimination NJCAA Championship Tournament to the 3-seeded Kirkwood Eagles. It was a tight game in the opening minutes, and the Blue Devils were able to build up a seven-point lead with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. The Eagles scorched the Blue Devils in bench points, 38 to 8. The second half did not go KCKCC’s way as the Kirkwood height and athleticism became too much for Brandon Burgette and his players. With the 73-55 loss, the Blue Devils are facing elimination and will now prepare to take on conference rival, 11th-seeded Johnson County Community College, who is also in a must-win situation.
  • Men’s Basketball Gets First National Tournament Win in Program History

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down nineteenth seeded Raritan Valley to record their first ever National Tournament win in KCKCC men’s basketball history. The Golden Lions started off hot, building up a lead of 11-2 in the first two minutes and thirty seconds of the game. It didn’t take long for KCKCC to climb back into things as they were up 48-40 at the half up.
  • Men's Basketball Punches Their Ticket to Danville
    March 10, 2025
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team was set to take on three-seeded Highland Community College for the 2025 DII Men's Basketball Region VI semifinal game. The two other teams remaining were the first-seeded Johnson County Community College Cavaliers and fourth-seeded Allen Community College. Both higher seeded teams won their semifinal matchup and it was a top two seeded showdown to punch their ticket to Danville, IL for the NJCAA Postseason Tournament. The Blue Devils would end up squeaking by the Cavaliers in the final by a single point and will represent the Plains District in Danville, IL.
  • Men’s Basketball to Region VI Semifinal

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the (7) Neosho County Community College Panthers, 92-56 Mar. 3 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The 2024-25 Region VI DII Men’s Basketball Tournament didn’t have any upsets occur in the opening round as every higher seed dealt with their opponent fairly easily besides the (4) Allen Red Devils just sneaking by the (5) Hesston Larks with a final score of 84-81.
  • Men’s Basketball Finishes in Second Place in the KJCCC
    February 27, 2025
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team beat the Neosho County Community College Panthers, 80-67 Feb.26 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The men’s basketball program celebrated four individuals before the game for sophomore night. The four sophomores were Camron Williford, Pierce Ross, O’shawn Jones-Winslow and BJ Stewart.  
  • Men’s Basketball Make it 21 Wins on the Season

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Hesston College Larks, 94-57 Feb.24 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. After the win, it now puts the men’s basketball team with an overall record of 21-8. After the win, the Blue Devils’ record is 21-8, making it back-to-back 20+ win seasons for Head Coach Brandon Burgette and his team.
  • Strong Second Half Elevates Blue Devils to a Win on the Road

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Allen Community College Red Devils, 92-76 Feb. 22 in Iola, Kan. With a 23-point performance, BJ Stweart now leads the conference in points per game as he averages 16.7 points.
  • Blue Devils Trample Scotties

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team destroyed the Highland Community College Scotties, 84-54 Feb.15 at Park University in Parkville, Mo. The Blue Devils currently sit under Johnson County Community College in the KJCCC standings with a conference record of 9-2. Allen Community College is in third place with a conference record of 6-5. 
  • Ross and Stewart Combine for 36 in Blue Devil Win

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team dominated the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds on the road, 81-63 Feb.13. BJ Stewart had a team-high 19 points, shooting 8-13 from the floor, and Pierce Ross was right behind him with 17 points as he shot 7-12 from the field.
  • Blue Devils Win Streak Snapped by No.10 Cavaliers
    February 10, 2025
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to the Johnson Community College Cavaliers, 78-63 Feb.8 in Overland Park, Kan. The Cavaliers were able to shoot 50% from the floor as they snapped the seven-game win streak the Blue Devils had built up.
  • Blue Devils Keep Winning Streak Alive

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team decimated the Labette Community College Cardinals, 85-49 Feb.5 at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan. The Blue Devils only allowed the Cardinals to lead one time with 18:34 remaining in the first half.
  • Ross Drops 21 in Blue Devil Road Win

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Neosho County Community College Panthers, 80-74 Feb.1 in Chanute, Kan. The Blue Devils are one game behind the No.10 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers but will face them later this week.
  • Men’s Basketball Make It Five Straight

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Allen Community College Red Devils, 76-63 Jan. 29 at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. The Blue Devils are now 5-1 in conference play and are in second place in the KJCCC, just behind No.10 Johnson County.
  • Men’s Basketball Doubles Avila Score

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team dominated the Avila University Varsity Reserve team, 114-57 Jan. 27 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. This marks the first time in the 2024-25 season that every active player scored a point in a single game.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Hesston College Larks on the road, 92-52 Jan. 25. Camron Williford boosted the Blue Devils with 15 points and shooting 8-13 from the free throw line.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Highland Community College Scotties, 71-68 Jan. 22 at Highland Community College in Highland, Kan. Camron Williford boosted the Blue Devils with 15 points and shooting 8-13 from the free throw line.  
  • Stewart Continues to Impress with 30 Points in Conference Battle

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds, 75-71 Jan. 18 at Park University in Parkville, Mo. The win was big for the Blue Devils as Fort Scott entered the game 2-0 in conference play. The Blue Devils were 1-1 headed into the matchup, so KCKCC now has the head-to-head advantage if needed later in the season. 
  • Williford Drops 30 Points in First Conference Loss
    January 16, 2025
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to the No.11 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers, 77-72 Jan. 15 at Metropolitan Community College–Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Camron Williford had a career night shooting 9-15 from the floor, 9-9 from the free throw line, 3-5 from behind the arc finishing with 30 points (career high) along with a team-high seven assists.
  • Men’s Basketball Obliterates Labette in Conference Opener

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team dominated the Labette Community College Cardinals, 98-51 Jan. 11 at Labette Community College in Parsons, Kan. The Blue Devils started out the game hot and led the Cardinals with a score of 52-14 at halftime.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team lost to the Western Iowa Tech Community College Comets, 58-63 Dec.11 at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. Despite the slow start, the Blue Devils were able to score 29 points off turnovers along with 33 bench points.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Southeast Community College Bobcats, 78-73 Dec.11 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Despite the slow start, the Blue Devils were able to score 29 points off turnovers along with 33 bench points.
  • Overtime Thriller Doesn’t Go Blue Devils Way

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to the Metropolitan Community College Penn Valley Wolves, 79-77 Dec.10 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The Blue Devils were up three points with just 15 seconds left in regulation with Pierce Ross standing at the free throw line shooting a one and one. Ross was unable to connect, and the Wolves brought down the rebound, hitting a three pointer to force the game into overtime.
  • Blue Devils Men’s Basketball Throttle Spartans

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Southwestern Community College Spartans, 90-66 Dec.7 at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan. There were11 Blue Devils who scored in Saturday evening’s game as Andre Bayamag recorded his first collegiate bucket.
  • Men’s Basketball Wins on the Road in Creston

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Southwestern Community College Spartans, 78-61 Nov. 23 at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. BJ Stewart has already received the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference DII Player of the Week twice already and continued to impress in the game against the Spartans.
  • Men’s Basketball Win in Overtime Thriller in Lincoln

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down Southeast Community College in overtime, 97-88 Nov. 30 in Lincoln, Neb. O’shawn Jones-Winslow recorded his first double double of the 2024-25 season with 16 points and 16 rebounds. 
  • Blue Devils Men’s Basketball Fall to No.3 Pirates

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to the North Central Missouri College, 86-71 Nov. 25 at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo. Despite just trailing three points at half, 43-40, the Blue Devils were only able to score 31 points in the second half.
  • No.20 Men’s Basketball Fall Despite Shooting Over 50% From the Field

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team fell to Iowa Central Community College, 88-84 Nov.19 at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. BJ Stewart had 16 of the 45 first half points for the Blue Devils as he shot 5-9 from the field, 4-7 from three and 2-2 from the free-throw line.
  • Huge Upset in Hutchinson for No.22 Men’s Basketball
    November 13, 2024
    Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball, ranked 22nd in Division II, pulled off the upset Tuesday night, beating Hutchinson Community College, 79-75. The Blue Dragons are currently ranked 15th in Division I Men’s Basketball. BJ Stewart had a career game while dropping a career-high 32 points while bringing down 14 rebounds and five steals. He had 16 points each half and shot 71.4% from the field in the first half.
  • No.24 Men’s Basketball Finish .500 during KCKCC Athletic Hall of Fame Classic
    November 11, 2024
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team went 1-1 this past weekend during the annual KCKCC Athletic Hall of Fame Classic, taking down Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley, but then falling to No.5 North Central Missouri College with scores of 87-78 and 68-86. The classic took place Nov.8 and 9 at MCC-Penn Valley.
