RODNEY CHRISTENSEN

One of the leading athletic trainers in the Midwest, Rodney Christensen is in his 26^th year as Head Athletic Trainer at KCKCC. In that role, Christensen is responsible for the daily care, injury prevention and rehabilitation of approximately 185 student-athletes each year. A two-time graduate of the University of Kansas, he received a BS of Science in 1995 and a Masters of Science in 1997. He’s also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association since 1995 and holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

In addition, he’s a certified Active Release Technique provider for the Upper and Lower Extremities and Long Tract Nerve Entrapments and a Certified Graston Technique Provider since 2007. An adjunct instructor in the KCKCC Allied Health Department, he also serves as a clinical instructor for the Park University Athletic Training Education program. Prior to coming to KCKCC, Christensen served as the assistant athletic trainer at Baker University from 1995-97, working extensively with the baseball and men’s and women’s soccer programs. A native of Atchison, he now resides in Shawnee.
