RODNEY CHRISTENSEN

One of the leading athletic trainers in the Midwest, Rodney Christensen is in his 26th year as Head Athletic Trainer at KCKCC. In that role, Christensen is responsible for the daily care, injury prevention and rehabilitation of approximately 185 student-athletes each year. A two-time graduate of the University of Kansas, he received a BS of Science in 1995 and a Masters of Science in 1997. He’s also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association since 1995 and holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

In addition, he’s a certified Active Release Technique provider for the Upper and Lower Extremities and Long Tract Nerve Entrapments and a Certified Graston Technique Provider since 2007. An adjunct instructor in the KCKCC Allied Health Department, he also serves as a clinical instructor for the Park University Athletic Training Education program. Prior to coming to KCKCC, Christensen served as the assistant athletic trainer at Baker University from 1995-97, working extensively with the baseball and men’s and women’s soccer programs. A native of Atchison, he now resides in Shawnee.
