  • 2024 Softball Season Recap
    May 14, 2024
    The Blue Devils softball team finished with a 36-20 record overall and a 16-6 record in conference play. KCKCC softball would see sweeps over Moberly Area, Ellsworth, North Dakota State College of Science, Labette, Southwestern, Independence, Hesston, Highland, Cloud County and Allen. Some of their biggest wins were against seventh ranked Johnson County on May 3 with a 1-0 win. That was the first shutout on the season for JCCC. The Blue Devils also lost both games to Cowley in the regular season but would end their season in the 2024 NJCAA Region VI DII consolation semi-final game.

    The fourth seeded Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team was set to take on the third seeded Cowley College May 9 at the Lake Shawnee Softball Complex. If they won, they would play the winner of the Johnson County vs Allen game later that day. A double elimination tournament, the Blue Devils would have to go perfect for a chance to make it to the championship game. Unfortunately, that was not in the cards for KCKCC.

    The fourth seeded Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team took on fifth seeded Fort Scott Community College at May 4 at the Lake Shawnee Softball Complex for the first round of the Region IV Postseason Tournament. This is a double elimination tournament, and the winner of this first game would move on to take on the winner of first seeded Johnson County vs eighth seeded Highland.
  • Blue Devils Split with No.7 Johnson County, 6-5 and 1-0

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (33-17) split with Johnson County Community College (38-8) 6-5 and 1-0 May 3 at the KCKCC softball field. The Blue Devils were winless against Johnson County last year losing 10-1 and 7-1. The Cavaliers are currently leading the conference with a KJCCC record of 17-3 meanwhile the Blue Devils are tied with Fort Scott for fourth place with a 15-5 record. Johnson had ye to be shutout in the 2024 season.
  • Blue Devils Finish Regular Season Splitting with Fort Scott, 6-2 and 12-10

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (34-18) split with Fort Scott Community College (35-17) 6-2 and 12-10 May 4 at the Fort Scott softball field. Both teams entered their last regular season series with a conference record of 15-5. The KJCCC postseason tournament is set to start May 8 at the Lake Shawnee Softball Complex in Topeka, Kan.
  • Blue Devils Take Both vs Coffeyville, 12-3 and 13-3

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (32-16) swept Coffeyville Community College (7-25) 12-3 and 13-3 Apr. 30 in Coffeyville, Kan. The Blue Devils are tied with Fort Scott for third place in the KJCCC with both teams obtaining conference records of 14-4. This week, the Blue Devils will take on Johnson County Friday and then Fort Scott on Saturday. Fort Scott will play Independence Friday before meeting the Blue Devils.
  • Blue Devils Sweep Allen, 6-2 and 5-3

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (30-16) swept Allen Community College (16-24) 6-2 and 5-3 Apr. 24 at the KCKCC softball field. The Blue Devils answered after this past weekend at Cowley with two wins against Allen and are tied with Fort Scott for fourth place in the KJCCC. 
  • Blue Devils Streak Snapped by No. 17 Cowley, 6-1, and 13-5

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (28-16) got swept by No. 17 Cowley College (37-10) 6-1 and 13-5 Apr. 21 at the Ed Hargrove Field in Arkansas City, Kan. The Blue Devil offense struggled, only adding up 10 hits in both games combined.
  • Blue Devils Blister Cloud County, 8-0 and 14-1

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (28-14) swept Cloud County Community College (15-19) 8-0 and 14-1 Apr. 17 at the KCKCC Softball Field. Both sides of the ball were at full display as the defense only let in one Thunderbird run compared to the 22 runs and 28 hits for the Blue Devils.
  • Blue Devils Sweep Hesston, 12-3 and 12-1
    April 15, 2024
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (24-14) swept Hesston College (8-68) 12-3 and 12-1 Apr. 11 at the KCKCC Softball Field. With these two wins, this now marks six wins in a row, and the Blue Devils are currently tied for third place in the KJCCC with Neosho County Community College.
  • Blue Devils Play ‘Out of this World’ vs Moberly, 22-1 and 9-0

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (22-14) swept Moberly Area Community College (10-28) 22-1 and 9-0 Apr. 8 in Moberly, Mo. Savannah Short went for a perfect 5-5 on the day while adding four runs for the Blue Devils offense.
  • Blue Devils get Swept by Neosho, 5-4 and 8-7
    April 08, 2024
    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (18-14) got swept by Neosho County Community College (24-11) 5-4 and 8-7 Apr. 4 in Chanute, Kan. The Blue Devils out hit the Tigers in both games combined but fell short by one run in each of the contests.
  • Blue Devils Mercy Rule Independence twice, 11-0 and 11-1

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (20-14) swept Independence Community College (9-14) 11-0 and 11-1 Apr. 6 at the KCKCC Softball Field. Liberty Hawks was the star for the Blue Devils adding four hits, six RBI and scoring four runs on Saturday.
  • Blue Devils Mercy Rule Southwestern both games, 9-1 and 15-1

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (18-12) took down Southwestern Community College (8-14) 9-1 and 15-1 Apr. 3 at the KCKCC softball field. The Blue Devils have now won six of their last seven games and combined for a whopping 24 runs in Wednesday’s series against Southwestern
  • Blue Devils Sweep Labette, 4-3 and 2-0

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (15-11) took down Labette Community College (8-16) 4-3 and 2-0 Mar. 28 at the KCKCC softball field. Blue Devil pitchers, Alyssa Droge and Hanna Acree, only gave up a combined six hits in both games against the Cardinals.
  • Blue Devils Split Series with MCC, 12-0 and 3-2

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (16-12) split with Metropolitan Community College (6-20) 12-0 and 3-2 Mar. 29 at the KCKCC softball field. The Blue Devils offense exploded in game one against MCC scoring 12 runs from 13 hits.

    The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team (10-8) took both games against North Dakota State College of Science (11-7) 6-5 and 11-2 Mar. 12 in Kansas City, Kan. The Blue Devils trailed 5-0 in Game 1 and responded with six straight runs to take the win in extra innings.
