RODNEY CHRISTENSEN

Head Athletic Trainer

Rodney Christensen is entering his 20th year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Kansas City Kansas Community College.  Christensen directs the daily care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation programs student-athletes at KCKCC.  Christensen, a two-time graduate of the University of Kansas, received his Bachelors of Science in 1995 and his Masters of Science in 1997. Christensen, who has been a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) since 1995, holds additional certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). Christensen has received advanced training in multiple manual therapy techniques and currently is Full Body Active Release Technique (ART) certified, Graston Technique certified and a Fascial Distortion Model provider.  Prior to coming to KCKCC, Christensen served as the Assistant Athletic trainer at Baker University from 1995 to 1997.  At Baker he worked extensively with the Baseball, and Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs.  Christensen is a native of Atchison, KS and currently resides in Shawnee, KS.
