KCKCC Soccer Field

SOCCER FIELD:

Part of a $4 million renovation opened in September of 2013, Kansas City Kansas Community College’s soccer field rivals some of the best in the world.

The same FieldTurf artificial surface used by the Tokyo Giants and Yokohama Bay Stars as well as such major universities as Columbia, Cornell, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Louisville, Texas, Oregon State and Washington State, it has been approved by the FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), the world governing body of soccer.

Built to FIFA standards of 120 by 75 feet, the field is lighted by for night play and the entire track and soccer field and stands surrounded by a fence. In addition to being the home field for the Blue Devil men’s and women’s soccer teams, it is the home of the Kansas City Shock women’s professional development team. In its relatively short time, Kansas City Christian High School and Mid-America Nazarene University has held games at the field and the Boston Breakers have twice held practices prior to games in Kansas City.

“Everyone who has used it so far has said it is one of the best fields in the Kansas City area,” said Ruben Rodriguez, KCKCC head men’s soccer coach.
