Baseball Takes Care of State Fair CC On The Road

SEDALIA, Mo. - The KCKCC baseball team broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning against State Fair CC on Tuesday and never looked back as they defeated the Roadrunners 13-7 on the road. 

KCKCC improves to 5-1 overall this season.

The Blue Devils had their biggest inning of the day in the third as they posted six runs on the Roadrunners to take a commanding 7-1 lead. State Fair CC was able to tie the game 7-7 after four innings and both teams would stall in the scoring department until the final inning. The Blue Devils offense ignited a match and created an onslaught with six runs in the ninth, before holding off a comeback from the Roadrunners in the bottom half.

Four Blue Devils had two hits each in Cole Dawson, Darius Freeman, Palmer Hutchison and Pablo Sanchez. Brayden Vawter hit the team's lone home run and recorded four RBI.

John Moritz started the game for the Blue Devils, but Parker Bosserman came in out of the bullpen to close out State Fair over 4.1 scoreless innings and struck out two batters.

KCKCC returns to action in a four-game series at home against Barton CC on Friday and Saturday. The doubleheader on Friday begins at 1 p.m.
