KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A four game series against Coffeyville CC had its moments as No. 19 KCKCC basebal took three out of four games against the Ravens. The Blue Devils ran their winning streak to 14 games up until the third game, where they fell 2-1. The squad did however defeat the Ravens by scores of 15-5, 7-2 and 16-4.

KCKCC is now 24-4 overall and 11-1 in the KJCCC.

The Blue Devils only took five innings in the first game to defeat the Ravens. After scoring eight runs in the first two innings Coffeyville added four runs in the third, but the Blue Devils responded with five runs in the bottom half to take a 13-4 lead. Heading into the fifth inning KCKCC led 15-5 and it was Coffeyville's turn to bat. The Blue Devils had gotten two outs, but the Ravens had men around the pads when a controversial home run was called back to keep the score at a 10-run margin. KCKCC escaped the jam and won due to the run-rule.

Brendyn Bard led the team with three hits and five RBI, while Caleb Adams hit a home run. Chase Terrell earned the win on the mound.

In game two the Blue Devils controlled the tempo of the game throughout. The Blue Devils led 4-2 after four innings before adding three more runs in the final five frames. 

Darius Freeman and Bard each had two hits, while Pablo Sanchez and Cole Dawson added two RBI apiece. Logan Barnard and Alan Mercado combined for nine innings of giving up just two runs.

Game three turned out to be the lone win for Coffeyville as the Blue Devils could only manage three hits. KCKCC's run came in the fifth when Dawson hit an RBI-groundout, but the offense stalled the rest of the game. 

Cooper Carlgren threw four innings and struck out seven batters.

In game four the Blue Devils and Ravens played to a 3-3 tie after four innings. KCKCC's offense continued to maneuver forward, while Coffeyville's came to a stop as the Blue Devils outscored the Ravens 12-1 over the final five innings. 

Freeman led the Blue Devils with three hits, while adding three RBI. Sanchez also added three RBI in the game and Tre Simmons threw 5.1 innings with three strikeouts.

KCKCC returns to the field on Tuesday for one game at home against MCC-Maple Woods at 1 p.m.
