Win Streak Continues, No. 14 Blue Devils Sweep Larks

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The No. 14 KCKCC baseball team hosted Hesston College in a mid-week KJCCC showdown and swept the Larks by scores of 14-4 and 8-1. 

The Blue Devils are now 36-5 overall and 18-2 in the KJCCC. 

KCKCC held Hesston to just eight total hits between the two games. Jumping out to a 6-0 lead in game one, the Blue Devils surrendered four runs in the third inning to Hesston to keep things close. KCKCC then went on a tear scoring one run in the fourth and seven runs in the seventh inning to take a 10-run lead. The Blue Devils would take game one due to the run rule after five innings. 

Cole Dawson had a team high three hits and four runs scored, while Brendyn Bard and Brayden Vawter added three RBI apiece. Parker Bosserman earned the win on the mound with two shutout innings.

In game two KCKCC allowed the first run of the game, but their offense picked up where it left off in the second inning. KCKCC scored at least one run in four straight innings, including a five-run frame in the second. The Blue Devils held a seven run lead and the game ended after seven innings.

Lee Allen Jr. led the charge with three hits and two runs scored. Payton McHarg had a team leading three RBI. Alexander Carrillo earned the win on the mound with three innings and four strikeouts.

The Blue Devils return to action on Thursday and Saturday when they play Johnson County CC in a four-game series. The Blue Devils will play at JCCC on Thursday at 1 p.m.
