Blue Devils Pick Up Two Wins Saturday, Sweep Scotties

HIGHLAND, Kan. - The KCKCC Blue Devils rolled past Highland CC on Saturday with another pair of wins, 14-3 and 11-1 to sweep the Scotties for the regular season.

The Blue Devils are now 43-7 overall and 24-4 in the KJCCC.

Looking to complete the series unblemished, the Blue Devils did not waste any time in the first game. KCKCC took a 5-0 lead after four innings of play, while Cooper Carlgren threw five shutout innings on the mound. Highland fell behind 14-0 after KCKCC rolled off nine runs in the sixth inning, before managing three runs in the bottom half.

The Blue Devils were led by a three-hit game from Caleb Adams after he launched his 11th home run of the season. Camden Karlin also added four RBI at the plate. 

In game two, the Blue Devils continued to roll past the Scotties. While leading 5-0 after five innings, Highland managed their lone run in the bottom of the fifth. KCKCC then went on another tear scoring six runs in the final two innings to end the game in seven. 

Cole Dawson led the way with three hits and was one of three Blue Devils to hit a home run. Palmer Hutchison and Darius Freeman also sent balls over the fence, while Tre Simmons improved to 5-0 on the season.

The squad returns to play Tuesday with a single game at home against Cloud County CC at 2 p.m.
