
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A three-day span lasted into the weekend where the KCKCC baseball team faced their rival No. 8 JCCC. The Blue Devils would suffer four straight losses to the Cavaliers as the teams met at JCCC Thursday and played at KCKCC Saturday. KCKCC fell 8-1, 6-3, 6-4 and 12-2.
The Blue Devils are now 13-14 overall and 2-10 in the KJCCC.
THURSDAY
The Blue Devils scored just one run in the first game as the Cavaliers jumped out to a 2-1 lead after two innings. Jase Woita added the RBI for KCKCC. The Cavaliers would score six more runs in the final five innings of the game.
In the second contest, KCKCC got on the board first with a pair of runs in the fourth inning. JCCC tied it at 2-2, before later taking a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning. The Blue Devils offense stalled and the Cavaliers added another two runs to seal the victory.
Matthew Buffington added a home run and one RBI.
SATURDAY
JCCC jumped out to a 6-2 lead after three innings in the first game of the day. The Blue Devils added two runs in the fifth inning, but were unable to collect a comeback. Buffington, Woita and Jackson Mervosh each had one RBI.
In game two JCCC jumped out to a 10-0 lead after five and a half innings of play. The Blue Devils added a run in the sixth and another in the seventh, before the game ended.
Jett Buck and Hector Candelas each had one RBI.
The Blue Devils next host State Fair on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
