Blue Devils Cruise Past Beavers

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC baseball team defeated Pratt in a three-game series winning 2-1 between the three games. After falling 9-3 in the first game on the road on Thursday, the Blue Devils returned home to sweep the Beavers 12-4 and 14-1.

KCKCC is now 27-19 overall.

On Thursday, the Blue Devils got out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. Pratt then scored nine unanswered runs to take the lead and prevail for the victory as the game ended after seven innings.

Hector Candelas, Christian Ammann and Lee Allen Jr. each had two hits on the day.

On Saturday, KCKCC steamrolled the Beavers to take a 12-2 lead in the first contest. The Blue Devils scored three runs in the second inning, four in the fifth and a pair of runs in the third and sixth frames. Pratt chipped in two more runs after trailing by 10 with the game well out of reach.

Matthew Buffington gave Pratt a headache as he connected on a home run and had six RBI. Mason Davenport got the win on the mound.

In the second game the offense continued where it left off. After leading 7-0 in the fourth inning, Pratt scored one run in the sixth inning before the Blue Devils exploded for a seven spot in the bottom half.

Buffington added his second home run of the game and had five RBI, while Jett Buck added four RBI. Maclane Finley earned the win on the mound.

KCKCC is back in action on Thursday when they play Allen County on the road beginning at 1 p.m.
