KCKCC Takes Three Games From Allen

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC baseball team took on Allen County this past week and won three of four games. The Blue Devils fell 3-2 and won 15-1 on Thursday, before winning 5-2 and 11-7 on Saturday.

The Blue Devils are 31-20 and 13-15 in the KJCCC.

THURSDAY
In the first game, the Blue Devils tied the score at 2-2 after scoring two runs in the fifth frame. Allen would answer in the bottom of the inning to take the lead and held the Blue Devils offense in check the rest of the way.

In game two, KCKCC jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the sixth inning. KCKCC exploded for six runs in the eighth and held Allen scoreless in the bottom half to win due to run rule, 15-1.

Jett Buck, Brady Patterson and Christian Ammann each hit a home run on the day.

SATURDAY
KCKCC used the sixth inning in game one to grab the lead against Allen. After tying the game at 2-2 in the fifth, the Blue Devils scored three runs in the sixth to help them to the seven-inning win.

The second game went back and forth up until the Blue Devils scored two runs in the fifth frame to lead 8-7. After pitching a scoreless sixth, KCKCC scored three runs in the bottom half to add insurance runs on their way to the win.

Patterson hit his second home run of the series, while Gehrig Goldbeck added a triple and Woita and Matthew Buffington hit a double each.

The Blue Devils are back in action on Thursday when they host Highland at 1 and 4 p.m.
