BLUE DEVILS SWEEP JOHNSON TO PLAY IN REGION VI CHAMPIOSHIIP GAME

The Blue Devils handily beat Johnson County for the third time this season 74-57 to advance to the NJCAA DII Region VI Champioship game on Saturday March 7th against Hesston College.  The Larks and the Blue Devils split in regular season region play.

Defense and total team effort has been Coach Newton's focus these last few games.  Its seems to be working well as the win extended their winning streak to nine.  "It was total team effort and our defense executed to a T forcing the Cavaliers into 17 turnovers," said head coach Kelly Newton.

The Blue Devils were led in scoring by CJ Vallejo with 17.  Babajide Aina posted another double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Lashawn Lewis had 11 points, while Dehven Talley added 10.

The Blue Devils will tip off on Saturday at 3:00 at Koch Arena at Wichita State University.  The winner of the KCKCC/Hesston game will advance to the NJCAA DII National Tournament.
