Blue Devils Eclipse Century Mark, Defeat MidAmerica Nazarene JV 128-48

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – It was a hot shooting night for the Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team Tuesday as they put up 128 points against MidAmerica Nazarene's JV squad, defeating the Pioneers 128-48. The scoring output was in close range of the program record set in 1997 as the Blue Devils posted 149 points.

KCKCC is now 6-4 on the season.

The game never slowed down for the Blue Devils as they were able to sprint up and down the floor, before leading 77-24 at halftime. Bryce Johnson got the scoring started with two baskets and Caleb Jones would help the team to a double-digit lead at 12-2 with a basket at the 16:41 mark. KCKCC found a spark and went on a 19-0 run and never looked back.

In the second half, Joshua Butler and Johnson earned back-to-back slam dunks. Jerry Maxinaud would help the team eclipse 100 points at the 10:07 mark, before Tomas Teklegregis and Jones made baskets. The Blue Devils led 105-38 with 9:12 to play. The Blue Devils never took their foot off the gas pedal as Gavin Russell made the final points of the game for the team. KCKCC would go on to win by 80 points in the game.

Johnson and Joshua Dames led the team with 17 points as seven Blue Devils scored in double-figures. Dames notched a double-double as well with 10 rebounds and the team shot 64.8 percent from the floor. KCKCC was also 12-of-29 from three-point range for 41.4 percent.

KCKCC will return to the floor at the KCKCC Fieldhouse on Thursday as they host North Arkansas College at 6 p.m.
