Men's Basketball Blows Out Hesston, 96-59

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The KCKCC men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games with a 96-59 blowout win over Hesston College Wednesday night inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse. Four Blue Devils scored in double-figures in the contest.

The Blue Devils improve to 17-7 overall and 8-1 in the KJCCC.

With an early lead, Joshua Butler and Keondre Brown would score back-to-back baskets as the Blue Devils led the Larks 12-5 in the first half. Hesston struggled from the field, but was able to later tie the game at 19-19 with 9:33 left until KCKCC scored seven straight points capped off by a three-pointer from Joshua Dames. Jerry Maxinaud later made a basket for the Blue Devils as they took a 36-27 lead at halftime. 

Hesston was unable to gain any momentum in the second half and the Blue Devils poured it on. KCKCC opened the half on a 16-3 run in the first five minutes to take a 52-30 lead. More long runs were in store for the Blue Devils as they nearly hit the century mark. The team scored 60 points in the second half on their way to the easy win.

Dames led the team on the night with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Butler and Shayon Janloo had 14 points apiece and Maxinaud added 10.

KCKCC returns to action on Saturday when they host Highland CC at 4 p.m.
