Men's Basketball Cruises Past Fort Scott, 91-76

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A sprint took place Saturday afternoon inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse, as the KCKCC men's basketball team had no trouble moving past Fort Scott. The Blue Devils defeated the Greyhounds 91-76 as four players scored in double-figures.

The Blue Devils record now stands at 15-8 overall and 6-1 in the KJCCC. The squad is now in a tie for first place with Allen County in the conference standings.

After a dunk by Jalen Broyles and free throw from Gary Bess, the Blue Devils led 19-12 at the 8:19 mark. Bess later hit a three-point basket and the Blue Devils led 45-25 at halftime. Fort Scott came out of the locker room on an 8-0 run to start the second half, but Broyles, Hudson Anderson and Bradley Lightbourne connected on shots to extend the lead for KCKCC.

Both teams broke out into full court press defense, but the Blue Devils maintained the lead and came out with the win.

Anderson and Bess Jr. led the way with 18 points. Broyles and Lightbourne each had double-doubles.

KCKCC returns to the floor Wednesday at JCCC for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
