Men's Basketball Slips On Road To JCCC, 70-60

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A five-point halftime deficit at halftime was nearly enough for the KCKCC men's basketball team to come out with a win on the road at Johnson County Wednesday night. However, the Blue Devils fell 70-60 to the Cavaliers.

The Blue Devils record now stands at 15-9 overall and 6-2 in the KJCCC.

JCCC led 9-4 before Joshua Dames went down the court to nail a three-point basket with 11:56 left in the first half. Isaiah Williams then made a basket before Dames connected on another long-range shot to make it 12-9 Blue Devils. The Cavaliers grabbed the lead late after making a run and led 30-25 at halftime.

KCKCC tried to get back in the game with some baskets in the second half, but the Cavaliers had an answer for every punch. Jaylon Moses cut the deficit to 10 points at 54-44 to give the team some momentum. But JCCC scored when they needed it most, coming out on top.

Dames posted a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds on 7-of-14 shooting. Bradley Lightbourne also scored in double-figures with 10 points.

KCKCC returns to the floor Saturday when they host Labette for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
