Blue Devils Sprint Past Labette, 91-75

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – It was a mad dash for the KCKCC men's basketball team as they reached the 50-point mark by halftime and were on their way to a 91-75 win over Labette Saturday afternoon in the KCKCC Fieldhouse.  

The Blue Devils are 16-9 overall and 7-2 in the KJCCC.

The Blue Devils grabbed a nine-point lead of 18-9 after Gary Bess Jr. scored five straight points for the team. The route continued for much of the first half as Joshua Dames hit a three-point basket to with 4:12 left, giving the team a 25-point lead. The Blue Devils led 53-32 at the break before surviving a small run by the Cardinals in the second half. Jeremiah Stanton and Bess Jr. scored six straight points for the Blue Devils – giving the team a 65-47 lead.

The Cardinals cut the deficit to 11 with 8:54 left. Hudson Anderson then stepped up and scored six straight points to give the team an 84-67 lead, leading the team to victory.

Bess Jr. led the way with 21 points, while Dames and Anderson had 19.

KCKCC returns to the floor on Wednesday when they play at Hesston College at 7:30 p.m.
