Dames Named Men's Basketball Conference Player Of The Week

BALDWIN, Kan. – KCKCC men's basketball player Joshua Dames is this week's Conference Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Dames was selected by a panel of sports information directors in the conference. This is Dames's first weekly award of the season.

Dames had his best performances of the season last week. In the win against Neosho, he scored a career-high 34 points and went 11-for-11 from the charity stripe. Between the two games, he added two double-doubles and shot 50.0 percent from the field, while posting an 88.9 percentage from the free throw line. He stepped up the most in a seven-point upset over first-place Allen County to put the squad a game within first place in the standings.   

For the year, he is averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 42.4 percent from the field. He also has 5.3 rebounds per game, good for second on the team and 2.1 assists.

JCCC's Tymer Jackson was the only other nominee for this week's award.

KCKCC is back in action Wednesday when they play at Fort Scott CC at 7:30 p.m.
