Brandon Burgette was named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2019, Coach Burgette enters his 5th Season as the Men’s Head Basketball Coach at KCKCC and his 13th Season as a Coach.

"What a home run hire for KCKCC," agreed UNLV Assistant Coach Barret Peery. "Brandon has tremendous experience at the community college level and won wherever he's been. In his hometown, he'll work tirelessly and take pride in being successful there."

"A proven coach not only in the Kansas City metropolitan area but on the national level, he's a tireless worker and relentless recruiter," says New Mexico University Assistant Coach Isaac Chew. "The thing that separates him is his ability to connect with student athletes through is playing experience and pure love for teaching."

As a first-year head coach, Burgette led the Blue Devils to its first Regular Season Conference Championship and Region VI Championship including Coach of the Year in Region VI and KJCCC. The Blue Devils finished the season 18-13 before COVID canceled the 2019 National Tournament.

In his second year the Blue Devils finished 10-8 coming up short due to covid restrictions, the Blue Devils didn’t get to finish their season. In year three the Blue Devils tied for 2nd in the KJCCC Conference with a 20-win season (20-10).

In his nine years as an assistant, Coach Burgette came to KCKCC after serving three seasons at Johnson County Community College under Hall of Famer Mike Jeffers with a record of (97-33) helping the Cavaliers win the Region and Conference in 2017, and 2019 also National Championship Runner up in 2019. Prior to JCCC Burgette was an assistant at Indian Hills Community College 2011-2015 where he recruited and coached 54 D1/D2 athletes. In his tenure at Indian Hills as an assistant, Burgette helped the squad to a Record of (121-16) 4x Conference Champions, 4x Regional Champions, NJCAA National Championship Runner up (2014).

Prior to Indian Hills Coach Burgette was an assistant Under Jeff Guiot after his playing Career at his alma mater Southwest Baptist University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Community Recreation. Burgette was a part of back-to-back MIAA Conference titles 2008-2009. The Kansas City native graduated from Lee's Summit North High School.
