Men's Golf Places Fifth At Bethany College Tournament

SALINA, Kan. - Making a jump into the fifth spot at the Bethany College Tournament on the final day, the KCKCC men's golf team shot a 289 in the final round to finish at 35-over par, 875 on Tuesday afternoon. Josh Killingsworth was the top individual for the team scoring a 6-over par 216 to take 15th place.

The Blue Devils finished the first day in sixth place before improving to fifth on the final day. Jack Stuckey also placed in the top 20 in 18th place with an 8-over par 218. 

Josiah Morris and Nate Saporito took 26th and 28th place at the event scoring a 13-over par and 14-over par, while Turner Depperschmidt took 37th with a 17-over par. 

Barton County CC was the team champion at the tournament with a 7-under par 833, while host Bethany placed 2nd at 1-under par 839 and Hesston College took 3rd at 28-over par 868.

Barton also had the top three finishers individually with Warathan Thamachok taking the title at 4-under par 206.

KCKCC returns to the links on Oct. 3-4 for the Columbia College Tournament at Columbia Country Club in Columbia, Mo.
