Men's Soccer Falls To Garden City CC Sunday

GARDEN CITY, Kan. - The KCKCC men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 shutout loss to Garden City CC on the road Sunday.

The Blue Devils are now 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the KJCCC. 

Garden City got on the board early, scoring in the fifth minute to put the Blue Devils behind 1-0. In the 11th minute, Ajay Stewart and Marcos Salgado each took the team's first shots, but neither would find the net.

KCKCC would take six more shots in the half before Garden City took a 1-0 lead into the break. Salgado and Pedro Faria took KCKCC's first two shots of the second period, but both were saved by the Broncbusters' goalkeeper. Stewart would add a shot four minutes later in the 57th minute, but the ball deflected off the crossbar and sailed away from the net. The game went back-and-forth but the Blue Devils' offense was unable to connect on any shots.

Stewart led the team with seven total shots, while Salgado and Faria each had three. Goalkeeper Jean Nzambi made four saves in goal.
