KANSAS CITY, Kan. - It was a long homestand for the KCKCC softball team this past week, as they hosted three different teams in three straight days. The Blue Devils recorded a 4-2 record during the stretch and even saw one of their players reach a historical mark early on. Bradi Basler hit two home runs on the week, extending the program record for career home runs, which now stands at 26.

The Blue Devils are now 8-2 on the season as their six game winning streak was snapped, yet still outscored their opponent 39-29.

KCKCC hosted Marshalltown CC, North Central Missouri and Kirktown CC - sweeping Marshalltown and splitting with North Central Missouri and Kirkwood.

The Blue Devils took care of Marshalltown by scores of 10-2 and 14-6, getting out to early leads in both contests. McKenna Lester recorded a team-high eight RBI and hit two home runs to lead the team, while Breanna Droge gave up two earned runs in five innings and struck out two batters in her appearance. 

The Blue Devils then faced North Central Missouri where Basler hit two home runs in a 6-3 win and had four RBI in the game. The team came back in the second game from a 4-1 deficit to cut it to one run, but were unable to overtake North Central Missouri as they fell short. 

KCKCC then split with Kirkwood CC taking the first game by three runs before being shutout in the final contest. After falling behind 2-0 in the fourth inning in the first game, the Blue Devils posted five runs in the bottom half and added another run in the fifth to take control of the game. McKenzie Ogden led the Blue Devils with three RBI, while Droge improved her record to 5-0 in the circle - allowing two earned runs and striking out four batters.

The Blue Devils have a break until Thursday when they plan to host Metropolitan CC at 1 and 3 p.m.
