
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC softball team faced off against Iowa Central on Saturday, where they fell 13-6 and 13-3 in a doubleheader.
The Blue Devils are now 2-6 on the season.
In the first game, the Blue Devils fell behind 5-0 after two innings. Iowa Central would go up 8-0 after three frames until KCKCC posted a four-run fourth to make it 8-4. Stella Harber and Lauren Salpas helped the cause with two doubles in the inning, which scored runs.
Iowa Central scored two runs in the fifth before the Blue Devils answered back with a pair in the bottom half. The Blue Devils offense stalled the rest of the way as Iowa Central wound up with the win.
Trinity Tauer led the team with two hits in the game and Harber had two RBI.
In game two, the Blue Devils trailed 3-1 after the first inning. KCKCC was unable to hold the opposition in the third and fourth innings, as they allowed five total runs. KCKCC added two more runs in the sixth before the game concluded.
Harber and Kaia Cordill each had two hits, while Cordill added two RBI.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Thursday at State Fair CC at 1 p.m.
