Softball Falls In First Game To Labette, Slips To Neosho

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC softball team faced Labette earlier this week, before hosting Neosho County on Saturday. The Blue Devils fell to the Cardinals 12-4 before the second game was suspended due to weather. KCKCC then fell to the Panthers 6-4 and 5-1 at home.

The Blue Devils are currently 10-12 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Against Labette, the Blue Devils fell behind 4-1 after two innings. KCKCC would score again in the fourth with one run and two in the fifth, but the lead was too large to overcome.

Savannah Short hit a home run in the game.

KCKCC faced off against Neosho on Saturday and fell behind 5-1 in the first game. The squad found some life down the stretch adding two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh. Neosho was able to prevail with the small win nonetheless.

In game two, the Blue Devils struggled as they fell behind early 3-0. Neosho would add a home run in the last inning and earned the sweep.

Stella Harber had four hits on the day and an RBI to lead the team.

The squad is back on the field Wednesday when they finish their game against Labette on the road, before traveling to Independence for a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
