No. 10 Women's Basketball Suffers Loss To North Platte CC

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – After falling in a close battle Friday night, 73-69 to No. 14 North Central Missouri College the 10th-ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team had another tough outing Saturday. The Blue Devils were unable to keep pace with North Platte Community College, falling victim to the Knights 77-64.  

The Blue Devils are now 8-5 overall on the season.

North Platte Community College would go out to a slim 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, as both teams struggled from the field. The Blue Devils would find a spark on offense, but the Knights kept up with the punches as KCKCC would trail 32-21 at halftime.

KCKCC would outscore the Knights 21-19 in the third quarter to trail by just nine points, but North Platte ballooned their lead in the final period to score 26 points. The Blue Devils scored 22 points in the quarter but it was not enough as they lost their fourth straight contest.

Tiaira Earnest led the team with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Mercer Roberts added 13 points. Ikia Elam and De'Jaria Guillroy each had 10 points.

The Blue Devils are finished for the semester as they will not play again until Jan. 8 on the road against Jefferson College.
