Women's Basketball Opens 2022-23 With 99-35 Win Over Graceland JV

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The (RV) KCKCC women's basketball team started their season off with a 99-35 win over Graceland University JV Tuesday night inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils held the Yellow Jackets to a total of 20 points over the final three quarters, while improving to 1-0 on the year.

KCKCC jumped out to an 18-4 lead after back-to-back baskets from Rebecca Christodoulo. After the first period, the Blue Devils led 24-15 as Graceland made a run to cut the deficit. To start the second quarter, Jada Mayberry, Victoria Jones and Kaylyn Rogers hit three straight three-pointers to make it 37-17. KCKCC would build the lead and take a 51-21 lead into halftime.

The offensive spurt continued in the second half and the Blue Devils held Graceland to 14 points in the final two periods. 

Six Blue Devils scored in double-figures as Trinity McDow led the team with 20 points. Overall, the squad shot 46.3 percent from the floor.

KCKCC returns to action on Saturday as they play on the road at Jefferson College at 2 p.m.
