BALDWIN, Kan. - KCKCC women's basketball player Jada Johnson has been named the KJCCC DII Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Johnson was named along with Johnson County CC's Nariyah Simmons.
The Kansas City, Mo. native had an outstanding week last week, leading the Blue Devils in scoring with 22.0 points per game over the course of three contests. She shot 64.2 percent from the field as well as from long range and the Blue Devils racked up three straight wins to stay undefeated at 5-0. Jada played a key performance against Metropolitan CC helping the team battle back from a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat the Wolves 60-50. Johnson is ranked 23rd in the nation with 19.0 points per game.
Johnson leads the team in scoring with 18.4 points on the year and is shooting 63.2 percent from the field.
The Blue Devils are back in action tonight when they take on Tabor JV at 5:30 p.m.
