No. 16 Women's Basketball Wins Two Straight Against Haskell, Graceland JV

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The No. 16 KCKCC women's basketball team got back on track this week in the win column after defeating Haskell University JV 72-49 on Tuesday, and Graceland University JV 75-44 on Thursday.

The Blue Devils are now 9-2 overall on the season.  

Against Haskell, the Blue Devils got out to a 17-14 lead after the first quarter, but held Haskell to just nine points the rest of the half. The Blue Devils took a 33-23 lead at halftime before scoring 39 points in the second half to run away with the win on the road.

Laura Gillamat-Ribo had 10 points in the game for KCKCC.

Thursday night the Blue Devils picked up their second straight win with an easy decision over the Yellowjackets. Three Blue Devils scored in double-figures as Jada Johnson posted 21 points, Lacy Whitcomb had 16 and Miaya Ware had 14 points. Kaylyn Rogers led the team with 11 rebounds, while Ware added a double-double along with her point total with 10 rebounds.

KCKCC is back in action next Friday night when they play at Missouri Baptist JV in St. Louis, Mo. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
