(RV) Women's Basketball Unable To Keep Up With Roadrunners

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The (RV) Kansas City Kansas women's basketball team could not keep up with State Fair CC's hot shooting on Saturday afternoon, as the Blue Devils fell 65-41 inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse. State Fair CC shot 55.8 percent from the field, while KCKCC posted a 26.6 field goal percentage. 

The Blue Devils are 10-4 overall on the season.

Both teams were neck-and-neck in the first quarter until State Fair grabbed a 19-14 lead. The Roadrunners would connect on a three-point basket to end the quarter and take an eight-point advantage. The Blue Devils struggled in the second quarter and would trail 32-24 at the break. KCKCC would fall victim to a 13-0 run in the third quarter before Victoria Jones made a layup to give the team their first basket of the period at the 6:03 mark. State Fair continued to stay hot in the second half and KCKCC was never able to mount a comeback. 

Lacy Whitcomb led the team with 17 points and Jennifer Guilbeaux grabbed six rebounds.

The Blue Devils travel to Iowa Western for their final nonconference matchup Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. before beginning KJCCC play on Saturday.
