Women's Basketball Defeats Hesston, 81-61

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC women's basketball team got back on the winning end Saturday afternoon as they defeated Hesston College 81-61 inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse.

The Blue Devils are now 11-7 overall and 1-2 in the KJCCC.

Trinity McDow and Lacy Whitcomb gave the Blue Devils a 12-9 lead after trailing in the first quarter. The Blue Devils scored six more straight points and led 18-9. Hesston scored a basket to begin the second quarter, but the run continued for KCKCC as they increased the lead to 39-26 at halftime.

Hesston managed to cut the deficit to six in the third, but Jada Johnson gave the Blue Devils a 13-point lead after scoring seven straight points. The Larks never mounted a comeback down the stretch as KCKCC's offense continued to connect.

Johnson and Rebecca Christodoulou led the team with 20 and 15 points respectively.

KCKCC is back in action on Wednesday when they host Highland CC at 5:30 p.m.
