Women's Basketball Struggles Against No. 6 Labette

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC women's basketball team had a rough outing against No. 6 Labette on Saturday afternoon, falling 59-45 to the Cardinals inside the KCKCC Fieldhouse.

The Blue Devils are 15-10 overall and 4-5 in the KJCCC.

Labette got out to a fast start outscoring the Blue Devils 19-4 in the first quarter. KCKCC's offensive struggles continued before they trimmed the halftime deficit to 13 points after Jennifer Guilbeaux made a basket and Jada Johnson knocked down two free throws.

The Blue Devils had a chance to come out strong in the second half, but Labette maintained their rhythm and led by 20 points late in the game. A few quick baskets from the Blue Devils were a little too late in the end.

Johnson led the team with 16 points.

KCKCC returns to the floor on Wednesday when they play at Hesston College at 5:30 p.m.
