Blue Devils Throttle Larks, 71-46

HESSTON, Kan. – The KCKCC women's basketball team got back on the winning end Wednesday night as they defeated Hesston College 71-46 on the road.

The Blue Devils are 16-10 overall and 5-5 in the KJCCC.

After outscoring the Larks 13-12 in the first quarter, the Blue Devils had a monstrous second period. KCKCC put up 25 points in the quarter, while holding Hesston to five. Victoria Jones opened the third quarter with a basket to give the team a 40-17 lead, while Laura Gillamat-Ribo hit a three-point basket midway through the period putting the Blue Devils up 48-26.

KCKCC made a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter capped off by a basket from Jennifer Guilbeaux. The score was 71-43 at the 2:13 mark and the Blue Devils ran away in the end.

Lacy Whitcomb scored 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Gillamat-Ribo (11) and Rebecca Christodoulou (10) also scored in double-figures.

KCKCC returns to the floor on Saturday when they visit Highland for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
