Blue Devils Fall Short to Des Moines, 71-51

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (4-3) fell to the Des Moines Area Bears (3-5) 71-51 Monday night at Rockhurst University. Sophomore forward, Symiah Bradley, recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Blue Devils started out the game up 9-0 but were down at halftime with a score of 29-21. The Bears were led by sophomore guard, Jaden Ainley who ended the night with 21 points while shooting 8-19 from the field. Ainley now averages 18.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Blue Devil guard, Victoria Jones added 16 points with four rebounds and three steals while teammate Jada Johnson had seven points and a season high five assists. Alexis Dukes came off the bench and played 22 minutes adding a team high three offensive rebounds and scoring four points.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 31.6 percent from the field (18-57), 37.5 percent from three-point range (6-16) and 75 percent from the free-throw line (9-12). The Bears shot 44.1 percent from the field (26-59), 26.3 percent from three-point range (5-19) and scored 22 points off the 25 Blue Devil turnovers.
