The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (11-5) defeated the Bethany College JV Swedes, 86-51 Jan. 6 at Rockhurst University. The Lady Blue Devils recorded 33 points in the third quarter, which is a season-high for a single quarter.

Victoria Jones recorded her second double double of the season with 14 points and 11 assists along with two steals. The 11 assists is a season high for the point guard out of Kansas City, Mo. Jada Johnson tallied 19 points and brought down six rebounds, three assists and one steal. Alexis Dukes came off the bench and finished the day with 10 points, four rebounds and one assist. Claire Suchma went 3-4 from the field and had seven points with two rebounds. Bennett Peck went 3-4 from behind the arc and ended with nine points, two rebounds and one assist.

The Swedes were led by Celina Eisenhardt who tallied 26 points, two rebounds and two assists. RaLeigh Basart scored 10 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Chloe Percy led the team in rebounds and brought down eight boards with two points and two steals. Kalysa Hamel ended with six points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 53.1 percent from the field (34-64), 50 percent from three-point range (8-16) and 55.6 percent from the free-throw line (10-18). The Swedes shot 31.1 percent from the field (19-61), 30 percent from three-point range (6-20) and 70 percent from the free-throw line (7-10).

The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against the Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at Metropolitan CC-Penn Valley.
