Women's Soccer Capitalizes On Opportunities, Wins 4-1 At Neosho Wednesday

CHANUTE, Kan. - A lot of goals were scored early by the KCKCC women's soccer team as they rode the momentum on their way to a 4-1 win over Neosho County CC on the road Wednesday. The Blue Devils are now 2-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the KJCCC.

Mia Hurt and Jordan Bedard added two goals in the first 10 minutes of play for the Blue Devils. Bedard also added an assist on the first goal of the game, while Viola Bischoff had the second assist.

With a 2-0 lead, Maria Luiza Rocha scored the third goal for the team - assisted by Hurt in the 18th minute. The Blue Devils were sitting comfortably the entire first half, as they carried the lead into halftime. Most of the second half would see little action, but in the 78th minute Jana Richter gave the squad a 4-0 lead after finding the net on her own. Neosho added their first goal at the final minute of the match, but KCKCC was the victor in the end.

Bedard took a team high six shots with three on goal and goalkeeper Karli Angle made three saves.

KCKCC returns to the field on Saturday at Barton CC at 3 p.m.
