No.9 Women's Soccer tie No.14 Cowley in Tough Fought Battle

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (6-0-3) tied the Cowley Community College Tigers (4-2-1), 1-1 Sep. 21 at the KCKCC Soccer Field. The Blue Devils continue to lead the KJCCC in goals against with just allowing three goals so far this season. The second closest is Butler and Cowley with nine.

The Blue Devils started off the scoring with a perfectly weighted through ball from Sierra Montez to Kiara Carr. Carr was able to put it past the Cowley goalkeeper to make it 1-0 in the 16th minute. That marks her seventh goal and Montez's fifth assist of the 2024 season. The Tigers were able to answer in the 56th minute, and the game would remain 1-1 until the end. Maria Heuman saw six shots on target and was able to stop five of them. The Blue Devils outshot the Tigers 15 to nine and shots on target eight to six.

The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against Garden City Community College at 5 p.m. Sep. 25 at the Garden City Community College Soccer Field in Garden City, Kan.
