Five Volleyball Athletes Named To All-Conference, Three To All-Region Teams

BALDWIN, Kan. - The KJCCC announced the volleyball East Division All-Conference and All-Region award winners on Wednesday where five Blue Devil athletes were named to the All-Conference teams and three earned All-Region awards. 

Nicole Hughes led the way with First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors for the team. Gracey Lovgren and Taryn Dial were also named to the All-Conference and All-Region squads as Lovgren earned second team All-Conference and All-Region honors - while Dial was named a second team All-Conference winner and honorable mention All-Region winner. Carlee Lill and Naomi Jemison were also named honorable mention All-Conference winners. 

Hughes finished the season with a team-high 115 total blocks and .309 hitting percentage. She was also third with 258 kills and racked up 2.48 kills per set. Lovgren would tally 189 kills, 95 digs and 92 total blocks, while Dial added a team-high 958 assists and 241 digs.

Lill finished second on the team with 306 kills for 2.55 kills per set and 116 digs. Jemison led the team with 313 kills for 2.59 kills per set and added 96 digs and 46 total blocks.

Cowley's Vivianna Solis was named the East Division MVP as well as Freshman of the Year, while JCCC's head coach Jennifer Ei was named the Coach of the Year.

The Blue Devils finished the season at 24-10 and advanced all the way to the Plains District B Championship.
