Blue Devils Take Down Coffeyville with Ease

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's volleyball team swept the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens Sep. 25 at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. The Blue Devils are currently 12-5 overall and 3-1 in conference, which puts them in fourth place behind Johnson County, Cowley and Highland.

The Blue Devils took the first three sets against the Red Ravens with scores of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-16. The Blue Devil offense was led by Sophomore outside hitter, Mercedez Brown who had 11 kills on her 21 total attempts. Veronica "Ash" Rolando was responsible for 20 of the 30 assists while also tallying six service aces. She is currently tied for third in NJCAA DII Volleyball service aces with 63. Nykeriah Allen added three block assists and one solo block. She currently leads the Blue Devils with 40 block assists on the season.

The next match for the Blue Devils volleyball team is against Highland Community College at 6:00 p.m. Oct. 2 at Highland Community College in Highland, Kan.
