Women’s Basketball Season Comes to a Close at Highland
March 04, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the fourth seeded Highland Community College Scotties, 66-33 Mar. 4 at Highland Community College in the opening round of the 2024-25 NJCAA Region VI Women’s Basketball DII Playoffs. With only 33 points, it was the least amount of points the Blue Devils scored all season. KCKCC finishes the season with an overall record of 14-16 and 6-8 conference record. -
Women’s Basketball Regular Season Ends with Loss to No.22 Panthers
February 27, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball lost to the Neosho County Community College Panthers, 96-77 Feb.26 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. There were six women’s basketball sophomores who were honored after the game. Those sophomores were Samaire Slusarek, Capri Garrett, Ja’Cole Johnson, Claire Suchma and Bennett Peck. -
Larks go the way of the Dodo as the Blue Devils win by 40 points
February 25, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball took down the Hesston College Larks, 78-38 Feb.24 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Samaire Slusarek had her sixth double-double of the season as she finished the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds. -
Women’s Basketball Falls on the Road
February 24, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the No.12 Allen Community College Red Devils, 67-36 Feb.22 in Iola, Kan. As the Blue Devils head into the final week of the regular season, they are currently 13-14 overall and 5-7 in conference play. The teams ahead of KCKCC are Johnson County (29-0, 13-0), Highland (23-2, 9-2), Neosho (18-7, 8-4) and Allen (18-4, 8-4). -
Blue Devils Fall in a Hard Fought Battle Against No. 8 Highland
February 17, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the Highland Community College Scotties, 68-54 Feb.15 at Park University in Parkville, Mo. The Blue Devils trailed the Scotties 52-35 at the start of the fourth quarter but were able to bring the game within nine points, 60-51, with 3:32 remaining on the clock. -
Slusarek Drops 18 in First Game Back
February 14, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball took down the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds, 50-41 Feb.13 at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan. Samaire Slusarek played her first game since Dec.13, 2024, finishing with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds - her first double double since Nov. 30 against Southeast Community College. -
Blue Devils Fall to Undefeated Cavaliers
February 10, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers, 77-41 Feb. 8 in Overland Park, Kan. Destiny Ochs was able to match her career-high with 13 points as she shot 5-11 from the field and drilled two three-pointers. -
Women’s Basketball Falls on the Road
February 04, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the Neosho County Community College Panthers, 70-51 Feb.1 in Chanute, Kan. Capri Garrett finished with a team-high 20 points and brought down seven rebounds on the road loss. -

January 30, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball fell to the Allen Community College Red Devils, 60-35 Jan.29 at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. The Blue Devils are now 3-3 in conference play and are in fifth place behind Johnson County, Neosho, Allen and Highland. -
Women’s Basketball Adds Third Conference Win on the Road
January 27, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team edged out the the Hesston College Larks on the road Jan. 25, 48-45. Trailing 24-19 at halftime, the Blue Devils sank five three-pointers to secure the victory. -
Turnovers Kill Blue Devils in Loss to Highland
January 23, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell short to the Highland Community College Scotties, 73-61 Jan.22 at Highland Community College in Highland, Kan. The Blue Devils were one shy of tying their season-high in turnovers. The only other game they had more was against North Platte on Dec.13 with 36 turnovers. -
Clark Gets Double Double in Low Scoring Affair
January 21, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team took down the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds, 65-34 Jan.19 at Park University in Parkville, Mo. There were four Blue Devils who finished in double figures, and the starting five added 11 total steals. -
Women’s Basketball Early Lead Disappears Against No.2 JCCC
January 16, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the No.2 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers, 85-41 Jan.15 at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo. The Blue Devils were able to cash in early as they led the Cavaliers by four points after the first quarter, but the lead didn’t last long. -

January 13, 2025The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team started off conference play with a win against the Labette Community College Cardinals, 82-34 Jan.11 at Labette Community College in Parsons, Kan. Both Capri Garrett and Destiny Ochs recorded a double double in the first game of 2025. -
Women’s Basketball Falls in Final Game in 2024
December 16, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the North Platte Community College Knights, 69-57 Dec.13 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The women’s basketball team will enter 2025 with an overall record of 9-7. The first game of the conference schedule will be against Labette on Jan.11. -
Women’s Basketball Puts Up Season High in Points
December 12, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team took down the Southeast Community College Bobcats, 82-59 Dec.11 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. The 82 points that the Blue Devils scored is the most all season. The second highest they put up was 79 on Nov.27 against MCC-Penn Valley in a 79-48 victory. -
Blue Devils Scoot by Pioneers in a Thriller
December 09, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team took down the Mid-America Nazarene University Varsity Reserve team, 76-74 Dec.6 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Despite the slow start scoring just 10 points in the first quarter, the Blue Devils bounced back and dropped 26 points in the second quarter and led the Pioneers 36-29 at the half. -
Women’s Basketball Falls in Joust vs Grand View
December 09, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the Grand View University Varsity Reserve team, 85-61 Dec. 3 at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. Despite scoring just 16 first half points, the Blue Devils were able to bounce back in the second half and score 45 points. -
Lady Blue Devils Take Down Bobcats with Impressive First Half
December 02, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team defeated the Southeast Community College Bobcats, 71-57 Nov. 30 at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Neb. The Blue Devils started off hot as they scored 45 points in the first half and held the Bobcats to just 30 points. -

December 02, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team took down the Metropolitan Community College Wolves, 79-48 Nov. 27 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Samaire Slusarek had a season-high 26 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 11-17 from the floor. -
Women’s Basketball Drops 50 Points in Second Half in Loss
November 20, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the Haskell University Varsity Reserve team, 78-73 Nov. 19 at Rockhurst University. Samaire Slusarek continues to shine on the Blue Devils offense while dropping a team-high 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. She now averages 18.5 points per game while shooting 42.3% from the field. -

November 13, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the Cloud County Community College Thunderbirds, 75-50 Nov. 12 at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kan. Both teams entered the contest looking to keep their undefeated season rolling. -
No.13 Women’s Basketball Has Successful KCKCC Athletic Hall of Fame Classic
November 11, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team went 2-0 over the weekend during the KCKCC Athletic Hall of Fame Classic by taking down the Haskell Indian Nations University Varsity Reserve team and Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley with scores of 70-63 and 67-38. The annual classic took place Nov.8 and 9 at MCC-Penn Valley. -
Slusarek Drops 24 in Lady Blue Devils Win Over Missouri Valley
November 06, 2024The No.13 Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team defeated the Missouri Valley College Varsity Reserve team, 70-52 Nov. 5 at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. Four Blue Devils finished in double digits as they shot 40% from behind the arc and 40.6% from the field. -
Blue Devils Scoot by Saint Mary JV in Season Opener
November 04, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team defeated the University of Saint Mary College JV Spires, 72-71 Nov. 1 at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo. Capri Garrett had a monster game for her first time in a Blue Devil jersey while scoring 20 points and bringing down 21 rebounds. That ties the third most rebounds in a single game in KCKCC women’s basketball history. -
Lady Blue Devils Season Ends with Loss to JCCC in Conference Final, 55-50
March 11, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (22-10) fell to Johnson County Community College (31-0), 55-50 Mar. 9 in the championship game of the KJCCC Tournament. The Lady Blue Devils had an impeccable season winning eight conference games, more than 20 wins in the season and five KJCCC Player of the Week recipients. -
Lady Blue Devils Advance to Finals with Huge Win Over Allen, 63-56
March 11, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (22-9) took down Allen Community College (22-6), 63-56 Mar. 8 in the semifinals of the KJCCC Tournament at Johnson County Community College. The Lady Blue Devils lost to Allen twice in the regular season, 69-44 and 84-43, but won when it mattered. -

March 05, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (21-9, 8-4) crushed Hesston College (11-17, 1-11), 84-60 Mar. 4 at MCC-Penn Valley. The Lady Blue Devils advance to the KJCCC semifinals and will take on No. 2 Allen at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Johnson County Community College. -

February 29, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (20-9, 8-4) crushed Hesston College (11-16, 1-11), 79-49 Feb. 27 at MCC-Penn Valley. Bennett Peck went back-to-back games with 17 points and tied her career high. The Lady Blue Devils finished in third place in the KJCCC with an overall record of 20-9 and a conference record of 8-4. Johnson County went 12-0 and Allen is one game ahead of the Lady Blue Devils with a record of 9-3. -
Lady Blue Devils Take Down Labette with Ease, 86-60
February 26, 2024The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (19-9, 7-4) crushed Labette Community College (4-20, 1-10), 84-43 Feb. 24. Bennett Peck scored a career-high 17 points during the road game, converting on five 3-pointers and two free throws.
